He’s her boss. He’ll do what he wants with her.

Ziara Divan came from nothing and worked hard to earn her position at Atlanta’s most prestigious bridal fashion house. So when her new boss Sloan Creighton tries to seduce her in a power play, she’s not having it. She won’t climb the corporate ladder right into the boss’s bed…even if he is irresistible.

Sloan will have his way—in business and in pleasure. He’ll regain control of his father’s company, and he’ll have this woman—not necessarily in that order. But just as his plans fall into place, Ziara’s past threatens to tear them apart at the seams….

    Plotter or Pantzer?

Plotters rule! (I may be a little biased.) Being a plotter doesn’t mean things don’t change as I write, but for the most part I know all the major points before I begin. Figuring out what will happen to my characters is my favorite part of writing, which is why I do it first.  :)

    Soda or Tea?

Well, I’m a southern girl, so a glass of cold sweet tea hits the spot on a steamy day here in the southern U.S. But honestly, I’m a Diet Coke addict. Diet Coke and Blow Pop suckers have gotten me through many a marathon writing session.

    Alpha, Beta, or Gamma?

Alpha males are so yummy—not to mention protective, driven, and um, yummy. As long as they don’t jump into asshole territory, I’m happy.

    Short Hair or Long Hair?

I lean toward long hair. On women, it conjures images of feminine luxury and abundance. On men, I find it sexy in a bad boy kind of way. But really it’s whatever fits the character. The hero for my August 2014 Desire release, A Bride’s Tangled Vows, is a sophisticated art dealer with sculpted spiky hair. Yum!

    Scary movies or romantic comedies?

Most people are surprised by my answer to this question. I often meet people who think I’ll love a rom com because I write romance. Not this girl. Its horror movies all the way. Hubby is thrilled that I never drag him to the sappy stuff. Our favorite dates are set in dark movie theaters watching a much anticipated horror/action/suspense/sci-fi movie. My current faves are The Woman In Black and The World’s End.

    Light or Dark?

I lean to the dark side of most things—chocolate, clothes, comedies, even men. (Shh, don’t tell my blonde husband he’s the exception.)  ;)  I wish I wrote funny, but that’s just not what comes out. If there’s a way to add angst, I’m right in the middle of it!

In honor of the fashion design firm in His By Design, I’d love to know: dresses or jeans?

18 Very SmallDani Wade astonished her local librarians as a teenager when she carried home 10 books every week–and actually read them all. Now she writes her own characters who clamor for attention in the midst of the chaos that is her life. Residing in the southern U.S. with a husband, two kids, two dogs, and one grumpy cat, she stays busy until she can closet herself away with her characters once more. She’d love to see you on Facebook or Twitter.

It really depends on the occasion, Dani, because they each have their pluses–I love that with a dress, it’s a one-shot, slip-it-on-and whammo! I’m dressed! But sometimes they require more in terms of accessories and look better if I pull out the heels (which I love because they make me taller, but my feet don’t love ;) ) With jeans, if you find the right pair, they’re actually comfy, and you can dress them up or down :) I’ve worn jeans (with a dressy top) on nights out :)

As for horror, sorry, but I’m a HUGE chicken. I’d be hiding under the bed for sure! Comedy, please!!

His By Design sounds hot, and I love the sounds of Ziara, who’s no one’s plaything :)

Dani, welcome!!! I love your answers (and yes, as a plotter, I did pump my fist in the air). Your cover is fab! So so sexy :-)

Hmm, jeans or a dress. It just depends. Unless it’s formal or conference *g* I’ll usually go with jeans because they can be dressed up or down so easily.

    7. January 3, 2014 at 11:46 am

Ah, I see we have an good mix of jeans and dresses here so far. :) I’m a girl who likes to be comfortable most of the time (but Ziara is very much a dress it up girl). For me, its jeans. Unfortunately, I have to dress up for work (no jeans allowed) so most days its dress pants and a top. But I do occasionally like to pull out a dress and go to the extra trouble of making myself look nice–it makes me feel pretty!

Thanks for joining me! And thanks for the comments on the cover! This was the first month Desire changed their cover to include the whole photo, and I was thrilled! I’m glad y’all enjoy it too!

      Hi Dani & Tawny,

I’m impressed with not only your release “His by Design” way cool cover by the way, but your answers for quick 6. Horror movies, uh no. And, ditto, with the Diet Coke, as it would be Coke or tea. Otherwise, I am so with you. I so glad of your debut release, and so many congrats with that! That has to be a “wow” moment when you go in a store and see it on the shelf with your name on the book. May this book lead to many more and a long road ahead as a writer.
