He’s her boss. He’ll do what he wants with her.
Ziara Divan came from nothing and worked hard to earn her position at Atlanta’s most prestigious bridal fashion house. So when her new boss Sloan Creighton tries to seduce her in a power play, she’s not having it. She won’t climb the corporate ladder right into the boss’s bed…even if he is irresistible.
Sloan will have his way—in business and in pleasure. He’ll regain control of his father’s company, and he’ll have this woman—not necessarily in that order. But just as his plans fall into place, Ziara’s past threatens to tear them apart at the seams….
Plotter or Pantzer?
Plotters rule! (I may be a little biased.) Being a plotter doesn’t mean things don’t change as I write, but for the most part I know all the major points before I begin. Figuring out what will happen to my characters is my favorite part of writing, which is why I do it first.
Soda or Tea?
Well, I’m a southern girl, so a glass of cold sweet tea hits the spot on a steamy day here in the southern U.S. But honestly, I’m a Diet Coke addict. Diet Coke and Blow Pop suckers have gotten me through many a marathon writing session.
Alpha, Beta, or Gamma?
Alpha males are so yummy—not to mention protective, driven, and um, yummy. As long as they don’t jump into asshole territory, I’m happy.
Short Hair or Long Hair?
I lean toward long hair. On women, it conjures images of feminine luxury and abundance. On men, I find it sexy in a bad boy kind of way. But really it’s whatever fits the character. The hero for my August 2014 Desire release, A Bride’s Tangled Vows, is a sophisticated art dealer with sculpted spiky hair. Yum!
Scary movies or romantic comedies?
Most people are surprised by my answer to this question. I often meet people who think I’ll love a rom com because I write romance. Not this girl. Its horror movies all the way. Hubby is thrilled that I never drag him to the sappy stuff. Our favorite dates are set in dark movie theaters watching a much anticipated horror/action/suspense/sci-fi movie. My current faves are The Woman In Black and The World’s End.
Light or Dark?
I lean to the dark side of most things—chocolate, clothes, comedies, even men. (Shh, don’t tell my blonde husband he’s the exception.) ;) I wish I wrote funny, but that’s just not what comes out. If there’s a way to add angst, I’m right in the middle of it!
In honor of the fashion design firm in His By Design, I’d love to know: dresses or jeans?
Dani Wade astonished her local librarians as a teenager when she carried home 10 books every week–and actually read them all. Now she writes her own characters who clamor for attention in the midst of the chaos that is her life. Residing in the southern U.S. with a husband, two kids, two dogs, and one grumpy cat, she stays busy until she can closet herself away with her characters once more. She’d love to see you on Facebook or Twitter.
